The AdSense Advantage - Day 5

"Wash, Rinse, and REPEAT… Building Your 'Virtual' Real Estate From Past Success"

Just like any other business endeavor, you should continue to do what works.  And since you’re treating your AdSense sites and virtual real estate like any other real business, you should be learning from and adapting to the strengths and weaknesses of your business.

Repeat what works.

The only way to know 100% that one strategy is outperforming another is to test and track it.  You can’t truly know if your click-through rates are going to increase by simply changing your ad color formats or placements to what I’ve mentioned in this course.

Though everything I’ve taught you so far has been tested by me, that doesn’t mean that it will work as well for you.  I guarantee that it will work to a certain degree, but there is still a huge chance that something could work even better for a particular niche.  You’re the only one that can determine that.

Test and track your variables.  Then, use what works.  Then, make what works your new ‘control’.  And then test a different variable against that new control.  This process can go on and on… and it should!  You never know, one minor change on your site could have dramatic effects on your click-throughs and payouts.

Turn One Into One-Hundred

Ok – let’s assume you have been testing your sites for a while, and you’ve figured out what works for one site.

Now that you know what it takes to build one VRE website, the next step is to take your system to a whole new level.  You have to leverage your tools and resources to build multiple VRE sites.

In many aspects, building an Internet business is a numbers game. In the sense of VRE websites, it's better to have ten websites bringing in $500 a month rather than one website bringing in $5,000 a month.

For starters, this diversifies your income if something goes wrong in your niche or with your website (for example, if it loses its search engine rankings)… If you have several websites to bank with, the loss can be handled.

More over, with ten sites it is easier to turn them from $500 sites into $5,000 earners, whereas converting your single site into a five-figure money making machine is very, very difficult.

There's really not much to creating site after site once you’ve developed a basic template to start from.  In this lesson, I’ll show you how to build your online empire from the successes of one of your VRE sites.

The first step when building a new site is to determine which route you’re going to take in terms of finding a niche.

You have 2 options:

·         Build more sites in the same niche.

·         Go explore a new niche.

Either way, you’ll need to go back to the lesson on Finding Profitable Niches before you continue.

Whether you build in the same niche or go after a new one, one fact is clear: you will benefit from your experience in building content sites, and just as important, your revenues from the first site will help you invest more money (if you want to outsource your content writing), and thus help you get faster results.

Assuming that you took some solid time and effort into finding a profitable niche on your first site, chances are you encountered several different niches to choose from before you landed your first site.

By really putting some time and effort into finding niches, you’ll quickly see that several will jump out at you… and then it’s just a matter of deciding which one you’d like to start with.  For your second, third, tenth, twentieth, and so on sites…you can use your previous research as a jumpstart.

Repeating Your Success With A Template

This is essential.

You need to be able to create a basic webpage template to start your new sites from.

You’ll need your homepage template and then a general webpage template that will be used for the remainder of your webpages.

If you followed the general tips and tricks I showed you on how to optimize your click-through rates, you should have been off to a great start for your first site.  Then, with testing and tracking hopefully you developed some of original methods as well.

When you built your first VRE site, you probably used an HTML editor such as Front Page or Dreamweaver.

Now - by knowing what works best from your first site, you should develop a webpage template that contains your AdSense ads in the prime positions (with optimal color formats, ad sizes, etc).  Save this file to be used as a template for each of your content webpages.

From this template, you’ll now need to add the content to each page.  This process will probably take awhile, especially if you’re doing it right, because you should be creating websites with at least 100 webpages of content.

As we talked about earlier, you should be using your own unique content, PLR articles that have modified, RSS feeds, and other duplicate content from free article sites.

Once you have found enough quality article content to cover your webpages, you need to go back into each page and paste the content into the proper positions.

Once you’re finished doing this – probably after a day or two – you should go into each webpage and add RSS feeds that are related to your content.  Search engines like these because they provide a ‘fresh’ feel to your webpages.

As of now – all of your content and AdSense ads are placed in the proper positions and on each webpage.

You’re not done yet.

Adding Multiple Streams of Income

You still need to add other sources of income to your site.  You do not want to rely solely on AdSense alone.

You have several options when looking to monetize your VRE sites:

·         AdSense.

·         Affiliate marketing.

·         Your own products.

·         Selling paid links (advertising space) on your sites.

The key here is to optimize each website for more than one source of revenue. While your primary resource here would be content, there's no reason why you cannot use your content sites to sell affiliate products.  Since your site is primarily a content-rich site based on profitable keywords, there’s no reason why you cannot sell affiliate products in addition to AdSense.

There are a few ways you could go about promoting affiliate products without writing reviews for them on your webpages.

·         Use banner ads

·         Create a “Top Products” section on each page

·         Use contextual ads*

You already know about banner ads… I hate to say it, but they’re pretty much a waste of time nowadays.  People are so accustomed to seeing them as ‘ads’ that they ignore them completely and develop ad-blindness.

Creating “Top Products” sections on your webpages can work, if done properly.  As with your AdSense ads, this will require you to do some testing to see what works best.  Where are you going to place this section?  How many products will you promote here?  Will you provide product descriptions?

The third option is to use contextual ads to promote your affiliate products.  Contextual ads are links placed directly in the content of your webpages.  They usually promote affiliate products, but some work similar to PPC publishing where you’re paid per-click.

Contextual ads work so well because they appear as related content.  They don’t appear as ‘blatant ads’ or a list of ‘products’, so the readers don’t turn on their ad-blinders.

You may not have noticed, but I’ve been using contextual ads throughout this course.  I’ve been doing it for software recommendations such as Keyword Elite, AdSpyTracker, HyperVRE, and others…

Notice how they don’t appear as blatant ads, and in fact act as enticers to be clicked on.  These are by far the BEST way to promote or recommend any product.

Once you’ve decided what other income source to use, you still have to add it to your webpages.

If you chose to use contextual ads, this could take a while.

You will need to go into each webpage and manually select certain words in your article content to hyperlink to your affiliate products.  If you only had about 15 pages to do this on, it wouldn’t be bad.  But assuming you have been creating your VRE sites properly, you have over 100 pages to sift through!

By now, you’re probably exhausted from all of the tedious work and this is the last thing you want to do.

I know what you're saying... This is hard frickin' work! You're right... I hate doing it.

So here’s your other option…

Automate Everything

Doesn’t that sound a lot better?

Though may be a mental advantage for having gone through the manual process of adding each and everything to your webpages, you need to remember that the benefits don’t always outweigh the costs.

Imagine the amount of time wasted by doing all of this manually.  Of course, you’ll learn some web design skills along the way, but is it really worth spending all of your time for 3-4 days to create one website?  But your time is worth more than that.

Successful people measure their progress on a daily basis.

Try to imagine how much progress you could attain if you could automate this entire process.  Yes, I’m talking about everything…from adding assorted types of quality content to including multiple streams of income on your websites.  All of this with an automatic switch.

So, let me show you a much easier way to do this, using HyperVRE. This is a cool new tool that saves me a heck of a lot of time and I figure, what the heck... I might as well show you an easier way to do this... but remember, you don't have to do it the quick way. You CAN do this manually if you want.

Using HyperVRE to create VRE sites with quality
content-rich, multiple income stream webpages
 in a couple minutes!

After using Keyword Elite or another niche-finding tool, I’m going to use HyperVRE to create a VRE website with the profitable niche, “acne”.   I’m going to have HyperVRE create a site with over 100 webpages that are highly targeted to this niche.

HyperVRE creates webpages based on your keywords.  In essence, HyperVRE will create one webpage for each keyword (or keyword phrase) that you have.  So, if you had a keyword list of 200 profitable keywords related to your “acne” niche, then HyperVRE will create 200 webpages targeted to each keyword.

Step 1

Open up HyperVRE and select “New Project”.

On the next screen…Enter the main keyword for your niche – in this case, “acne”.

HyperVRE has a built-in keyword suggestion tool if you don’t already have your list of keywords.  This will bring back several keywords (keyword phrases) related to your main keyword, ‘acne’.

If you already have an pre-existing keyword list from Keyword Elite, WordTracker, or similar… then click “Import txt File” to import your keywords into HyperVRE.  Then, click “Select All”.

Step 2

This is where you’ll select your custom templates - one for your homepage and the other for other your keyword webpages.  Then, select any CSS styles that you’d like to incorporate into your webpages.  The software will use these webpage templates to add your custom-chosen content, AdSense ads, and contextual ads (which we’ll talk about soon…).

Step 3

Remember how time-consuming and tedious it was to find quality content that you would eventually have to copy and paste onto every single page of your website?

If you hated doing that, then you’ll love this step…

Select what type of content you’d like to add to your pages.  HyperVRE grabs quality content related to your niche, including articles, definitions, and RSS feeds.

Here, you can also add extremely targeted content to your website by using rotating keyword definitions.   When determining how important a webpage is, search engines look at words that are highly related to the main keyword and that are frequently updated.  I personally use rotating keyword definitions to attract the search engines. After testing both with and without definitions, I now always use them with my VRE sites.

Once you’ve selected the content you’d like HyperVRE to automatically retrieve for you, you can also manually add ANY content you’d like, such as PLR articles (add articles in bulk amounts too), content you’ve written yourself, or other RSS feeds.

Step 4

If you selected to add RSS feeds to your site, you can search for RSS feeds relating to any keyword of your choice.  Select the RSS feeds you’d like to be added to your webpages, and then you’re off to the next step.

Step 5

This step contains more customization features for your webpage.

Step 6

I love this step!

I usually only use this for my Google AdSense ads, but I realized that it can actually be used to add any javascript to my webpages.  If I’d like to add eBay affiliate products to my site, I can use this to add the appropriate javascript to each webpage, as either hardcoded directly in the webpage, or as an external .js file.

Select “Enable PPC Codes” and then simply enter your AdSense code here.

Step 7

This is why I really like this software.  You can automatically add contextual ads to the content of every webpage.  Instead of sifting through each webpage for certain keywords to hyperlink, HyperVRE automatically selects your main keywords on each page and hyperlinks them to your affiliate products of your choice.

The affiliate programs that are pre-installed with HyperVRE are Amazon, ClickBank, and PayDotCom.  You can search each affiliate marketplace and select the products of your choice.

Insert your affiliate IDs for each program and then they’re dynamically embedded into your contextual ads on each and every page of your website, in addition to any other source of income added to your site.

And if you’d like, you can also promote ANY affiliate product by manually adding them in HyperVRE.  The best part is, “It’s all automatic”.

 Step 8

Instead of simply placing the contextual links on your webpages and letting your visitors guess where they’ll be taken, you can choose to automatically add a short description of the products by using the DHTML feature.

When the visitors to your website hover their mouse over the contextual ads, a small layer will appear describing the product.  This could send off a negative vibe to the visitors because they’re struck with an ad description.  However, many visitors want to know exactly where the link will take them.  You can choose to use this feature or not.

Step 9

Build your VRE site!  You’ve added tons of quality content, multiple streams of income, and now you’re ready to generate your webpages.  Simply click “Save Project and Generate Pages”.  That’s it… after a few minutes, your VRE site is ready to upload to your server.

I don’t’ know how long this whole process takes, but I betcha it’s quite a bit shorter than the average 3-4 day manual creation process.

Think of it this way...

Why try to handwrite 20 copies of a 5 page newsletter, when you can type one copy and click “Print 20 copies”?

The same principle applies to creating your VRE sites.  You can build your sites manually, but why waste your time when you can find an automatic way of creating them?

Well that wraps up this lesson. I hope you've already started to put into practice some of the things you've learned so far. If not, make it a point to start today!

The next lesson is coming soon.  I’ll be showing you how to turn your ‘virtual real estate’ into ‘viral real estate’.

Stay tuned...
